Install and permissions
VeyFrame needs macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.
Install
- Download VeyFrame and open the disk image.
- Drag VeyFrame to Applications.
- Open it from Applications. If macOS says it can't verify the developer, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the message about VeyFrame.
Permissions
macOS asks for each permission the first time a feature needs it. You can change any of them later in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
| Permission | Needed for |
|---|---|
| Screen & System Audio Recording | Recording anything, and your Mac's sound. After allowing it, quit and reopen VeyFrame if macOS asks. |
| Camera | Your camera, and recording an iPhone or iPad (device screens appear to macOS as cameras). |
| Microphone | Recording your voice. |
| Speech Recognition | Captions and transcripts, which are made on your Mac. |
| Input Monitoring | Only for Show keystrokes, which shows the shortcuts you press. |
Camera and microphone are requested only when you start a recording with them on. Choosing a device doesn't turn it on.
Where things are saved
- Recordings:
~/Movies/VeyFrame, or the folder you choose under Save recordings to in the recorder's settings. - Edits: a
.motion.jsonproject file next to each recording. - Saved styles and settings:
~/Library/Application Support/VeyFrame.
