Backgrounds and frames
The Frame tab sets the look around your recording. Quick Frame applies a good default in one click: a Graphite background, padding, rounded corners, and a shadow.
Background
- Gradient or Color: 16 gradients and 12 colors.
- macOS: the wallpapers on your Mac, including the aerials you've downloaded in System Settings, grouped as they are there. A cloud badge marks ones macOS hasn't downloaded; choose them in System Settings → Wallpaper to download them, and VeyFrame uses the full version automatically.
- Image: any picture of your own.
Pictures have a Blur slider. Wallpapers and images are read from your Mac, never bundled into a project; if one is missing when you open the project elsewhere, its color is used instead.
Frame
- Padding and Rounded corners.
- Shadow, with softness, distance, angle, and opacity.
- Device frame: Laptop (thin bezels, a notch, and a base) or Phone (an even bezel with rounded corners). Turning it on picks the one that suits your recording's shape. The frame is drawn around the screen, so nothing on it moves.
- Crop keeps part of the screen; zooms, the pointer, and annotations work inside it.
Canvas shape
The toolbar's canvas menu sets Original, 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1. For a different shape than the recording:
- Fit whole screen shows all of it on the background.
- Follow action fills the canvas with part of the screen and pans with your pointer and zooms. Made for vertical video.
On a 9:16 canvas, Show safe zones shades where social apps put their own buttons and captions. It appears only in the preview.
Saved styles
At the top of the Frame tab, Save keeps the current look: background, frame, canvas, camera bubble, caption style, cursor, and zoom settings (never timed edits). Apply a style with one click. Right-click a style to rename, update, export, delete, or use it for every new recording. The ⋯ menu imports and exports styles as a file, to share a look with your team.
