Zoom and cursor

VeyFrame records your pointer separately from the screen, so it can zoom on your clicks and redraw the cursor smoothly.

Automatic zoom

Each click gets a zoom that eases in just before the click and holds for a couple of seconds. Nearby clicks share one zoom; a click far away moves the view across without zooming out in between.

In the Zoom tab:

  • Full frame zooms the whole picture; Loupe magnifies a round lens around the pointer and leaves the rest in place.
  • Speed (every zoom): Fast (0.25 s), Normal (0.4 s), Slow (0.8 s), or Very slow (1.2 s) to ease in and out. It applies to every zoom on the clip, including ones you added. To give every zoom the same magnification, select one and choose Use … for every zoom.
  • Motion blur softens the picture slightly during fast zooms and pans.
  • Follow pointer while zoomed lets the view glide with your pointer between clicks, and pulls back if the pointer moves too fast to follow.
  • Strength sets how far automatic zooms go, from 1.2× to 2.5×.

Your own zooms

Press Z to add a zoom at the playhead, or double-click the empty Zoom lane. Select a zoom to set its magnification and focus point. Changing an automatic zoom turns all of them into editable blocks; Reset in the Zoom tab brings back the click-following zooms.

Cursor

In the Cursor tab:

  • Style: Recorded (the real macOS cursor, which changes over text and links), Black or White arrow, Hand, Halo, Dot, Ring, Touch, Crosshair, Laser, or Hidden.
  • Size from 25% to 500%, and a Color for the round styles.
  • Sharp system cursors redraws the standard cursors crisply, so they stay sharp when zoomed.
  • Click highlights: a circle or a ripple on each click.
  • Hide when resting fades the pointer out after it stays still, and Loop back to start returns it to where it began for seamless loops.
Imported videos and recordings made without Capture cursor motion have the pointer baked into the picture, so it can't be restyled. You can still add zooms by hand.
