“VeyFrame needs Screen Recording permission”
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Turn on VeyFrame. If it isn't listed, click + and choose it from Applications.
- Quit VeyFrame (⌘Q) and open it again. macOS applies the permission only after a restart of the app.
macOS won't open VeyFrame
If macOS says it can't verify the developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the message about VeyFrame.
No sound in the recording
- Check that Microphone or System audio was on in the recorder, and that the right device is selected.
- Allow VeyFrame under Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- In the editor's Audio tab, make sure the track isn't muted and its volume isn't at 0%.
The cursor can't be restyled or there are no zooms
Zooms and cursor styles need Capture cursor motion, which is on by default in the recorder's settings. Imported videos and recordings made with it off have the pointer baked in; you can still add zooms by hand with Z.
If clicks didn't zoom, the pointer may have been on another display while you recorded one screen.
Captions say there's no speech
If the microphone was very quiet, VeyFrame says so instead of making empty captions. Record closer to the microphone, or raise its input level in System Settings → Sound. Transcription also needs free disk space the first time, to set up Apple's speech model.
A wallpaper looks soft
A cloud badge means macOS hasn't downloaded the full wallpaper yet. Choose it once in System Settings → Wallpaper; VeyFrame then uses the full version automatically.
The app quit while recording
Open VeyFrame again. It rebuilds the interrupted recording from what was saved and opens it. Only the last moment before the quit may be missing.
An export failed
- Make sure there's enough free disk space and that you can write to the folder you chose.
- If a background image or music file was moved, the export uses the background color or plays without music; put the file back to use it.
- Try the Most compatible preset.
